Mr. Walters has been involved in the practice of engineering for over 23 years. Since his graduation from Cardiff University in 1982, he has worked for Guyana National Engineering Corporation and the prominent NYC Structural Engineering firms, STV Engineers, Burns and Roe, Chas. H. Sells and Mueser Rutledge Consulting Engineers. Mr. Walters now manages and directs the day to day technical and administrative operations of Demerara Engineering, PLLC a firm that he has founded and developed. Mr. Walters has been involved in the design of building and bridges primarily in the NYC metropolitan area, but also in areas across the USA and in the West Indies. He is particularly adept at the structural engineering design of lo-rise to mid-rise structural steel framed and reinforced masonry buildings. Additionally, based on his graduate studies in geotechnical engineering, he is specialized in the investigation and design of foundation s for all types of structures. His substructure work includes shallow foundation design, deep piled foundations, minipile design, and the use of state of the art ground improvement technologies. 

Some of the notable projects he has worked on over the past fifteen years in the areas of both structural engineering design and construction management, include National Weather Service Nexrad Radar Towers located which are located throughout the continental USA, an Industrial Incinerator for the destruction of antiquated chemical weapons in Tooele, Utah, an oil fired 550,000 Megawatt electrical generation facility in Baku, Azerbaijan and the construction of a 33 story New York State Supreme Court Building, located within the downtown Brooklyn Metro Tech area.
